Meet Jake.

Jake Marshall’s love for performance kicked off early—thanks to a childhood filled with “The Sopranos” and indie films. One of his parents’ favorite stories involves three-year-old Jake throwing his sippy cup in the sink and declaring, “Fucking sippy cup.” It’s no wonder he grew up with a flair for drama and a penchant for colorful language.
Jake’s acting journey led him to NYU Tisch, where he honed his craft at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute and Stonestreet Studios. He appeared in several plays, musicals, and short films and was briefly a member of NYU’s sketch comedy team “Free Beer.” While there, Jake also studied improv and sketch at UCB NY, and began performing standup around the city. Upon graduating in 2021, Jake was named a finalist in Warner Bros. TV Actors in Training Program, an acting competition open to recent BFA graduates worldwide.
Since moving to LA in 2021, he’s appeared in national commercials for Chase Bank and Pfizer and in season 2 of Snapchat’s “The Me and You Show.” His recent stage credits include playing Ronald in “The Altruists” at Hollywood Fringe and Seymour in “Little Shop of Horrors” in Burbank. As well as studying at The Groundlings, performing standup and writing sketches.
This summer, Jake has been shifting his focus to creating his first EP. Music has always been Jake’s first love, even if his relationship with his voice has been complicated—a theme explored in his debut single “Bad Singer.” Inspired by legends like Freddie Mercury and Elton John, and current favorites like Ariana Grande, Renee Rapp, and Kacey Musgraves, Jake’s music blends sad folk pop with a nearly five-octave range and a unique twang.

Jake’s debut single “bad singer” drops on August 9, with his debut EP set to release later this fall. His music dives deep into themes of love and heartbreak, mental health, and the queer experience. As the self-proclaimed “sad boy of pop,” Jake’s music is raw, vulnerable, and a little sad to listen to (lol!).
When he’s not performing, Jake enjoys life with his shih-tzu corgi mix, Charlie (aka Chuck), hiking, road trips, and craft beer. He’s also the co-captain of a weekly gay kickball team. Jake lives by the adage “create what you know,” believing that genuine art comes from personal experience.
Jake’s mission is to be everywhere—a Jake-issance – if you will. A real “Jake-Of-All-Trades.” Beyond his music, Jake is creating a short film with fellow Tisch alum, Emma Watts. Stay tuned folks.
